    The Olympic Games start next Friday and all the athletes heading to Rio have spent years training for this moment. They have visualized winning the gold, they have set goals that have helped them move from one level to the next and they have worked hard to get to the very top of their game. Training is also part of our race of faith. Like Olympic athletes, we need to fix our eyes on the prize, set goals and work hard so that our faith will grow strong.     The 2016 Summer Olympics begins in 2 weeks! 10,500 athletes from 206 nations will gather in Rio de Janeiro to compete in 306 events across 28 sports. It is an event that inspires people around the globe as we watch individuals and teams “go for the gold.” From the very beginning of the Christian Church, our faith has been compared to these games so during this year’s Olympics we will explore what it will take for us to run the race of faith.     For the next two weeks, Faith Church will be turned into a cave to celebrate our Cave Quest Bible School. Since the children will be learning about God in a cave I thought it would be interesting to go back in history to see what lessons God taught people in caves. In a time of despair, David but his trust in God and in a cave was able to rejoice. From David’s cave story we learn how to trust God at all times and in all places.
