  • The Jesus Creed – Living the Jesus Creed | Sermon from 10/29/2017

    Jesus Creed 940x250

As we come to the end of our study on the Jesus Creed, how can we make sure we continue to live out this creed in the future? The answer isn’t to come up with a list of rules to follow but to make sure we are in a relationship with the one who gave us the creed – Jesus. To love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength means to invite Jesus into our heart, minds and lives. We explore just what this means and what it looks like for us to keep living out this Jesus Creed.

  • The Jesus Creed – Failure and Forgiveness | Sermon from 10/22/2017

    Jesus Creed 940x250

While our desire is to love God with ALL our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves, we know that we routinely fall short. In little and big ways we fail in living out the Jesus Creed, but our failure is not the last word. Peter routinely failed to love Jesus and those around him but that failure was forgiven. Failure and forgiveness are part of the journey as we strive to live out this creed. • The Jesus Creed – A Life of Compassion | Sermon from 10/8/2017

    Jesus Creed 940x250

In the aftermath of Sunday night’s shooting, we have heard amazing stories of compassion. Family and friends covered their loved ones to shield them from bullets. Strangers lifted up those who had fallen in the stampede to lead them to safety. Drivers offered their vehicles to get people to hospitals. Thousands of people stood in line for hours to donate blood. Businesses opened their doors and donated their goods and services to the victims and their families. It is these acts of compassion that remind us that darkness cannot overcome light and that goodness and love are always stronger than evil. Compassion is a powerful force that our world needs and it is part of the creed that guided the life of Jesus. We not only pray for our nation but learn how our own every day acts of compassion (loving our neighbor as ourselves) can offer hope and bring peace to our nation and world.

  • The Jesus Creed – God’s Calling | Sermon from 10/1/2017

    Jesus Creed 940x250

If we recite the Jesus Creed, pray it with a humility and sincerity and allow the message to shape our hearts, God will call us and use in new ways. This new calling doesn’t always lead to a new job or location, many times God just wants us to step out to love and serve Him and others in new ways. The Jesus Creed can help lead us to the greater purpose God has for our lives. See how Jesus’ parents, Mary and Joseph, lived out this creed and how it led them to a new calling.
