  • G.I.V.E – Generosity | Sermon from 11/2/2014

    GIVE logo-web

We are beginning a four week series on what it means to G.I.V.E. Giving calls for Generosity, Inspiration, Vision and Effectiveness. This week we will see that generosity means giving freely and abundantly and what most people assume is that if we give this way – we lose. We lose our time, money, energy, possessions or whatever it is we are giving away, but the reality is that we don’t lose –we gain! God’s word says, and studies have shown, that people who give generously are happier, healthier and filled with a greater sense of purpose. If these are things you want in life read and listen as we learn to GIVE.

  • Life Rules – Submit | Sermon from 10/26/2014

    life rules 940x250

Our last life rule just might be the hardest – submit. No one likes to hear this and no one likes to talk about it unless it is telling others they need to submit to us, but what God says is “submit to one another.” While there are many reasons why we might say no to this life rule, there is one big reason to say yes. We put others first because 2000+ years ago, Jesus put us first. The humble submission of Jesus is THE example of what it means for us to submit to one another.

  • Life Rules – Encourage | Sermon from 10/19/2014

    life rules 940x250

The author Andy Stanley says, “Christianity is personal but it was never designed to be private.” As the body of Christ we are called to be part of each other’s lives and this week’s life rule speaks directly to this situation. To encourage one another goes far beyond saying “good job” and “way to go.” It means being willing to get involved in other people’s lives and allowing others to get involved in ours. God’s Life Rules continue to challenge and change the way we live.

  • Life Rules – Forgive | Sermon from 9/28/2014

    life rules 940x250

Forgiveness doesn’t come easily because the pain of disappointment runs deep. Others don’t deserve our forgiveness when we consider all they have done to hurt us. For these reasons, and so many more, forgiveness doesn’t make any sense and it never will until we first understand that we are forgiven people. Look at God’s rule for forgiveness and the freedom this rule can bring.

We CAN come home again, but that journey isn’t always easy. Returning to God and living the life God has for us can be a challenge at times, but God will be with us along the way. Hagar was a woman who felt like everyone and everything was working against her so she ran away. God tells her she CAN go home again, but it was going to be hard. Through the difficult times, however, God was with her and God is with us too. Hear how God’s presence and power can sustain us on our journey home.
