  • The Miracles of Jesus – Healing an Outsider | Sermon from 3/30/2014

    Jesus Miracles 940x250 (1)

The woman was desperate to have her daughter healed so she asked Jesus for help. When the disciples told her to go away – she kept asking. When Jesus said he didn’t come to heal her daughter – she kept asking. Wait… did Jesus really tell this woman he wouldn’t heal her daughter? How does this fit our understanding of Jesus’ all consuming, unconditional love? While at first it seems that Jesus is ready to send her away, this woman’s persistence and God’s love brings the miracle. Listen and read as we explore one of the most difficult passages of the New Testament (Matthew 15:21-28) and learn that Jesus’ love and God’s kingdom really is for all people.

  • The Miracles of Jesus – Feeding the 5000 | Sermon from 3/23/2014

    Jesus Miracles 940x250 (1)

Two of the most well known of Jesus’ miracles took place in the same region and within 12 hours of each other. First Jesus multiplied 5 loaves and 2 fish in order to feed up to 20,000 people and then early the next morning Jesus walked on the water in the midst of a storm to join His disciples on the Sea of Galilee. Both miracles continue to reveal to us just who Jesus is and what it meant for Him to be the Messiah. When Jesus invites Peter to walk on the water with Him there is the call for all of us to place our faith and trust in Jesus. Explore the power and meaning of these miracles and the hope we are given when we struggle with doubt, fear and faith.
