Cub Scouts

Bellefonte Cub Scout Pack 330 has been serving youth for over 40 years. We were officially re-chartered at FUMC in January 2011.

Cub Scouting is a family and home centered program for boys in the first through fifth grade. It strives to teach 12 core values – Citizenship, Compassion, Cooperation, Courage, Faith, Health and Fitness, Honesty, Perseverance, Positive Attitude, Resourcefulness, Respect, and Responsibility.

Why Cub Scouts? Cub Scouting’s strength is that it is a well-rounded program positively affecting every area of a boy’s life. It encourages boys to achieve a deeper appreciation of others and learn the value of serving others. Scouting provides boys with a sense that they are important as individuals and it promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem.

Cub Scouting Teaches Your Son

  • Confidence through recognition by adults
  • Belonging by building relationships with other boys
  • Quality family time to strengthen the bond between a parent and child
  • Social Skills through interacting with other people
  • Moral and ethical choices by instilling essential values
  • Leadership skills through leading other boys
  • Citizenship to become responsible community members

How Cub Scouting Works.

  • Your son is a member of a Den (6-8 boys) who meets according to their schedules. A Den Leader (usually a parent) is in charge of the activities, which include games, crafts, songs, ceremonies, and lots of fun.
  • Your son is also a member of the Pack. The pack consists of several dens and meets at least once a month. The Cubmaster leads the pack meetings, with Scouts and their families in attendance. The pack meeting is made up of fun activities, as well as the presentation of awards that have been earned during the month.

For more information and to join in on the fun, contact the Cubmaster through the church office.
