Prayer Quilt & Shawl Ministry
Our Prayer Quilt & Shawl Ministry creates handmade quilts and prayer shawls that are lovingly crafted, prayed over, and given to people experiencing significant moments in life. Whether someone is celebrating, grieving, recovering, or simply needs encouragement, each quilt and shawl serves as a visible reminder of God's love and the prayers of their church family.
Who Receives a Quilt or Shawl?
Our ministry shares quilts and prayer shawls with people experiencing many different seasons of life, including:
- Illness or hospitalization
- Recovery from surgery or medical treatment
- Loss of a loved one
- Homebound members and those living in care facilities
- Baptisms
- Members serving in the military
- Other significant life events where encouragement and prayer are needed
Every gift is given with love, prayer, and the hope that the recipient will experience God's comfort and peace.
Prayed Over by the Church
Before a quilt or shawl is given, it is prayed over for the person who will receive it. This simple yet meaningful tradition symbolizes the church surrounding someone with prayer, love, and encouragement during an important season of life.
Join the Ministry
Members of the Prayer Quilt & Shawl Ministry sew, crochet, knit, learn new skills, encourage one another, and enjoy Christian fellowship while creating gifts that bless others. Every stitch becomes an opportunity to share Christ's love in a practical way.
